Almost all car makers as of the present are doing their best to develop cars with impressive fuel economy features. This need was brought about by the federal government’s guidelines on gas emissions and consumptions. In addition to this, vehicles with lesser fuel consumption are very attractive to car finders who are in search for vehicles that they could purchase using their own money or several auto financing deals since the prices of fuels continues to increase. Due to this, Nissan has recently upgraded the engine of the versa to attain greater fuel efficiency.

Although the Nissan Versa that would be reaching the company’s showrooms this summer still uses the 1.6liter 4 cylinder engine, Nissan has upgraded this by using dual-fuel injectors. As soon as the Versa with this engine hits the market, this would the first time that this technology would be used in the US.

The use of dual-fuel injectors is actually the most important upgrade that Nissan has done on the engine used by the Versa. This is because the dual-fuel ...
... injector increases the fuel-efficiency of the car to significant levels. Instead of using one injector, the Versa has two injectors attached to each port inside the cylinder. This set up allows the fuel to be feed in two streams instead of one. As a result it is expected that the Versa will now have a 30 city/38 highway mpg rating which is more efficient compared to the previous rating of 28 city/34 highway.

Aside from these, the upcoming Versa units will be mounted on the latest small-car V platform that Renault SA and Nissan are planning to share upon their engaging the global market. In addition to this, the Versa that is using the V-platform is lighter than the Versa with the B-platform. This is because the Versa mounted on the V-platform uses components that is 20% percent fewer that the version with the B-platform.

With an impressive fuel-economy, the Versa might be included on the vehicle options that Nissan would be using on its goal to capture the 8% of the global market. The Versa could be a great choice for the company’s expansion since this vehicle has the features needed to attract more new car finder s.
