In cases where the liver becomes too large, the pain experienced when the abdomen is touched. A little discomfort occurs when the liver exerts pressure on surrounding organs and nerves due to enlargement. When the liver fails to function normally due to its enlarged, which can lead to jaundice.

The increase in the size of the liver happens gradually due to several factors. Some of them are glandular fever, hepatitis, malaria, liver abscesses and even more serious causes such as leukemia and lymphoma.
