After the game, Liu focused on trying to convert his own racing car via the computers. Then he employed a most experienced rally racer to improve his rally skills. Through years of hard working, Liu was finally standing top of China Rally.

He won the 2004, 2006 CRC championships in Group N and was awarded "Golden Steering Wheel Award" in 2007. In the coming year, he won the second place in world rally.
