Latest Update About The Leaf And Volt Competition

The Nissan Leaf and the Chevrolet Volt are among the most popular vehicle models of the present. As a matter of fact, the two models are considered as the closest rivals. This is despite the fact that each of them has different specs and features. However, they do have a so called common denominator that makes the vehicle selection process among hybrid car finders more difficult. The common denominator that these two models possess is that they are the most advanced and environment friendly vehicles that were mass produced. Due to this the competition between them continues to intensify.

However, recent statistics revealed that the Nissan Leaf has taken the lead over the Chevy Volt by a slim margin. Record shows that on the first five months of this year Nissan has delivered a total of 2,184 units of the Leaf to several destinations. GM on the other hand reported that they were able to sell a total of 2, 167 units of the Volt from January towards the end of May and this simply shows that Nissan has sold 17 units higher than what GM did.

... to look for better strategies to match the sales of the Volt’s closest competitor which is the Nissan Leaf. One of the most recent policies that they have implemented to boost their model’s sales was to reduce its price. By adjusting the Volt’s price that was included on their new car prices list, GM hopes to attract more car buyers and convince them to purchase the Volt over the leaf either in straight cash or by using some of the auto loans offered by lenders.

This recent price cut has lowered the Chevy Volt’s price from $40,995 to about $39,995. With the existing federal tax cut implemented by the government on hybrid and electric vehicles, car buyers would be able to purchase the Volt for as low as $32, 496. However, this policy might not be sufficient enough since the Leaf is currently sold in a price of about $32, 780. The federal tax cut would further reduce the Leaf’s price to about $25,280 which is much lower than the Volt’s current price.
