General Motors continues to produce new vehicle models to provide car buyers with extensive options in buying their vehicles. The company’s very active approach towards the production of vehicles that would be included on their new car prices lists is implemented on all its brands such as Buick. As a matter of fact, GM has started producing the latest version of the LaCrosse which is expected to be available on the market by late summer of this year.

The latest version of the LaCrosse offers a lot of exciting features that would probably attract buyers who are currently doing their own new car search to look for the best auto loans that are offered and purchase one of the 2012 Buick LaCrosse units in the market. Although the latest model of the LaCrosse is not considered as a cheap new car, GM hopes that car buyers with above-average incomes would prioritize buying this model over its closest competitors.

To ensure that the 2012 Buick LaCrosse would ...
... stand out against its rivals, GMs has upgraded the latest version of this Buick focusing mainly on increasing its fuel-efficiency feature. In order to attain better fuel economy, GM used its eAssist powertrain on this LaCrosse version. This made the eAssist the standard powertrain for all the 2012 LaCrosse models.

The eAssist system boosts fuel-efficiency by combining an electric motor-generator that generates charging when the vehicle brakes and a lithium-ion battery to store the charges generated. This powertrain is mated to a 2.4liter engine that was also used on the 2011 Buick LaCrosse.

The combination of the eAssist powertrain and the 2.4liter 4-cylinder engine provides the 2012 Buick LaCrosse with 182 horsepower. This power output is similar to that of its predecessor but the latest version is considered to be more fuel-efficient. When compared, the 2011 version has a 19mpg in the city and 30mpg in the highway while the 2012 version has 25mpg in the city and 37mpg on the highway.

Due to this, the 2012 Buick LaCrosse has a current price of about $30, 820 which is $2, 830 higher than its predecessor. However, GM is still optimistic that the increase in price will not discourage buyers from purchasing the newest LaCrosse since they would also be getting greater savings from less fuel expenses.
