It was almost too much to handle. I observed as my best buddy made her first public speech in disjointed, awkward sentences. The sentences were increasingly more disorderly as she went on. She left the stage, tears in her voice as an awkward silence met her departure. However, she'd obtained a prominent job and was anticipated to tell others about it all over the U.S. She was so mortified, she postponed her public speaking for a season, as she "got it together."

I sat in the row nearest to the stage next time, to provide some friendly encouragement. My buddy had come back and although she was obviously shaken, she insisted she was all right. Her speech was perfect! She was articulate and poised as she spoke to people gathered in front of her. Afterwards, the crowd was stunned into silence, shattered by enthusiastic applause.

Such an extraordinary alteration made me decide to figure out what caused it. I inquired of her what had made the difference, and all she said was that she had practiced quite a bit.

A good public speaker can be defined as a person who has the ability to inform, influence ...
... or entertain an audience. Although it is believed that some are "born with it" and others are not, public speaking is something that can be sharpened and improved, much like other abilities. A person is able to enthrall the crowd by watching other speakers and practicing, along with employing rhetoric and hand movements, for starters. The most imperative need is that of connecting with the addressees.

Perhaps the biggest constraints to realizing impeccable public speaking skills are self-imposed limitations and barriers. These barriers are belief patterns that are deeply rooted in a person's psychology, and affects an individual's motivation and ability to set objectives, believe in self, focus, and realize one's potential.

"There's this amazing training course I took that helped me deal with my anxiety after my first address," she said to me. According to my buddy, she was able to make progress in her speechmaking skills, thanks to her classes with Executive Success Programs. I've considered that type of program to help me hone my own skills, after observing her dramatic alteration. Attempting a very, very long foot race is something I've secretly always wanted to do, since I enjoy jogging. I mentioned it in conversation, she grinned and told me she believed my first 26.2 miles would be a lot easier to come by than her second speech.
