There has been a sudden change in the history of luxury car sales in the US. The former leaders in luxury car division such as Mercedes Benz and Lexus have been overtaken by BMW. This was despite the fact that other European car makers such provided a lot of new car deals and auto loans to boost their sales. Some of them even lowered their new car prices just to grab the attention of more new car finders and increase the chances of attracting more customers.

As of the present, BMW’s sales of its luxury cars continue to increase. The company has recorded that its overall sales and deliveries for the first five months of this year was intensified by the increase of demands for the BMW 5 Series sedan. The sales of the BMW 5 Series sedan has risen by almost 16 percent from last year to about 20, 651 units this May. The overall delivery of BMW for the first 5 months has also soared to about 92,068 vehicles or an estimated 13 percent increase.

BMW’s ...
... total delivery for the first five months of this year has placed the company on the lead in terms of number of units delivered. Mercedes Benz occupies the second spot with total sales of about 90,274 units. Lexus, Toyota Motor Corporation’s luxury division which is also the last year’s leader currently occupies the third spot with deliveries amounting to 77, 237.

This turn of events has somehow erased Lexus’ lead for almost 11 years now. BMW has started narrowing the lead of Lexus by 9,216 last year. This was probably the company’s greatest accomplishment during that time since Lexus’ lead was about 19, 473 in 2009. Given these figures, it is quite clear that BMW has reduced Lexus’ lead by almost 50% in 2010.

The current statistics also revealed that the effort exerted by Mercedes Benz to take the lead were not successful. Mercedes has actually offered discounts for each of their vehicle as high as 27 percent to boost their sales. BMW has only increased their incentives by 6.7 percent and this has concluded their rise to the top.
