Cast Iron Baths Enjoy A Traditional Resurgence

The cast iron baths were basically free standing designs, enamelled and painted in different colours of choice. They can be refurbished time and again according to the changing times and the interiors of your bathroom.
The cast iron baths are generally free standing with various designs like the French, Victorian and the claw feet baths apart from the various slipper baths as well as the roll top designs. The cast iron baths are originally the old world designs and have an amazing traditional charm to them. They are back in vogue and the modern day so called trendy baths are fast being replaced by their traditional and elegant counterparts. The cast iron baths were basically enamelled and painted in different colours of choice. These days they are polished in various styles and finishes like the rusted copper, brass, chrome (stainless steel look) and gold.
If you have not sold off or scrapped your old baths, they can be refurbished and polished or painted according to choice and used in the bathroom for the very antique look and decor. You can create a Victorian as well as a French interior for your bathroom. The ...
... other question is why they are back in vogue, it’s not only because they look good or infuse an old world charm into your bathroom. They are back in vogue because they are sturdy and last longer.
The best of all the designs are the roll top slipper cast iron baths. The roll top design is the one in which the edges of the bath are smooth and rolled, while the slipper bath is the one where one of the sides in a bath is raised while the other lies low. The raised side provides a good support and rest to the back when you lie down in the bath for a soak. There is also a variation in the slipper bath design where both the sides are raised and the middle is lower. If these styles of baths are big enough two people can comfortably bathe in the tub. These baths are typically the Victorian styled and look the best with polished, chrome, gold or copper finished ball and claw feet designs.
The slipper cast iron bath can be drilled on the lower side for tap holes while in other designs the tap holes can be drilled as per choice on either side or even in the middle on one of the sides. The taps or mixer can also be affixed outside the bath pouting inside the container. This way there is no need to drill tap holes into the bath. Many brands provide pre drilled baths and you can just fix up the tap, filler or a shower mixer accordingly.
Along with different designs these baths are available in different sizes to offer a relaxing and comfortable bath. These traditionally designed baths can be used to bring a modern twist to your bathroom. They offer you the flexibility in terms of meeting your taste and requirements.
