You also have the option of creating a Google News Sitemap. Although more challenging to do, a Google News sitemap offers a number of advantages. You can tag all articles with publication dates and proper titles, categorizing content accurately. You also have the option to use metadata and keywords. An automated system is preferable because Google prefers your site’s news sitemap should only contain articles published in the past 24 hours—Joomla, Drupal, Wordpress, and a few other platforms are doing this right.
