Vw Passat’s Base Price Reduced
The race towards getting a greater market share has been one of the most important goals that auto makers have in mind right now. Due to this, most of them had been thinking on how to increase their sales and earn more customers from new car finders who are interested in buying their own expensive and cheap new car models. A good example of this is every car maker’s effort to provide better new car deals for potential customers. These deals usually involve better pricing and more flexible auto financing schemes. However, Volkswagen has currently started a new strategy that would encourage more buyers to buy their vehicles.
Volkswagen has recently announced that they would be reducing the base price of their Passat. The company has scrapped almost $7000 from the Passat’s original price. With this, the base price of the Passat will be trimmed down from $26,000 to $27,000 into about $19,995 dollars which will be around $20, 765 after all the applicable charges would be added to the ...

In addition to this, VW will be distributing the 2012 VW Passat in three different powertrains. This includes the version powered by a 2.5liter 5-cylinder engine mated to a manual transmission with the capability to provide a maximum power output of about 170 horsepower. Another Passat version is the 2.0liter TDI clean diesel version with an estimated 43 miles per gallon rating on the highway. The last Passat is the 3.6liter VR6 version that is mated to a 6-speed automatic DGS transmission. This combination allows the Passat 3.6 to produce a maximum power output of about 280 horsepower.
With the price slash in effect, VW hopes to encourage more buyers to check-out and even purchase their Passat. This could be the company’s best option in bringing the price of their Passat in a range closer to its closest competitor which is the Toyota Camry. The Passat had been competing with the Camry but failed to take-over the position held by Toyota’s vehicle. The price slash could also place the German-made Passat at par with other competitors including the Honda Accord, the Ford Focus, and the Chevy Malibu.
