Chrysler’s newly separated RAM division has currently commenced the delivery of the RAM 1500 plug-in hybrid pickups to the DoE for testing. This was just the first instalment of the 140 units of the RAM 1500 that will be subjected to testing before its release on the market. It is believed that this batch of RAM 1500 will be directly sent to the dry deserts of Yuma, Arizona that is located near the border of California which is considered as a popular test ground for most vehicles prior to market release.

The RAM 1500 is expected to become one of the most popular plug-in hybrid pickups that most car finders would like to purchase. This can be a good option for every car finder who is in need of a pickup truck with lesser fuel consumption and the versatility of a conventional gas-powered pickup.

However, this vehicle will undergo a three-year testing period before hitting the market by 2014. The testing period as well as the procedures will ensure that the RAM 1500 would become a reliable pickup on the road. The succeeding ...
... tests would be conducted on various areas in the US and will be driven to different weather conditions. The results of the test would allow the vehicle producer to improve some of the features included in this vehicle that would be proven to be less functional.

Car experts expect that RAM would offer better auto financing deals for this model to boost its sales. Aside from this, the 1500 can be a good choice due to the fact it has a lot of excellent features to offer. Since this is a hybrid pickup, the RAM 1500 is powered by a 5.7liter Hemi V8 engine that is quite common among pickups and an electric motor capable of propelling the vehicle to up 20 miles in pure electric mode. The electric motor is powered by a 12.9 kWh lithium-ion battery. The combination would probably reduce the 1500’s fuel consumption significantly. Since the RAM 1500 would still go through a lot of tests, car buyers need to wait for three more years before they can purchase this vehicle.
