With more than 50 attorneys and 200 staff members, the law firm of Baron & Budd, P.C., works on behalf of plaintiffs who have been harmed by corporate malfeasance. In addition to individuals, Baron & Budd offers its services to businesses, municipalities, and other groups. Baron & Budd often handles cases that touch on broader social issues affecting the rights and well being of citizens.

For example, Baron & Budd addresses such issues as damages resulting from the Gulf Coast oil spill, class-action suits involving bank overdraft fees, violations of corporate overtime pay, and online scams. Baron & Budd’s efforts even contributed to the improved labeling practices regarding lead content in the state of California on children’s food and beverage products. In addition, the firm provides legal services in cases involving insurance and securities fraud, as well as unsafe medical products.

Russell Budd serves as President and Managing Shareholder for Baron & Budd. In 2008, the National Law Journal named Baron & Budd to its “Hot List” of plaintiff law firms in the United States, ...
... the sixth time the firm was elected to this elite list. In 2007, Russell Budd won the Wiedemann Wysocki National Finance Council Award from the American Association for Justice. The award honors lawyers who have demonstrated ongoing dedication to their profession and a commitment to improving the civil justice system. As chief negotiator of a $4 billion settlement with Halliburton Co., Russell Budd secured much-deserved money for victims of asbestos poisoning. Russell Budd also served on a negotiating committee that resulted in a $3.9 billion settlement with United States Gypsum Corporation. Money from that settlement also went to victims of asbestos exposure.

In addition to his legal pursuits, Russell Budd supports numerous community nonprofits, including the Dallas branch of Habitat for Humanity International, Lung Cancer Alliance, and Asbestos Disease Awareness Organization.
He serves on the advisory board for the National Comprehensive Cancer Network (NCCN) Foundation.
