Comptia Practice Exam For N10-004 Compcert
CompTIA's Network+ is intended to certify networking technicians with 18 to 24 months of experience. Attaining Network+ certification indicates that you know how to configure and install the TCP/IP client. This exam is vendor- and product-neutral, covering a range of networking technologies.
There are no specific requirements for CompTIA's Network+ certification. Although it is targeted toward IT professionals with 18 to 24 months of experience, anyone who wishes to take the Network+ exam may do so. This certification is the logical next step for those who have already attained CompTIA's A+ certification.
CompTIA's Network+ exam consists of only one test, which has 72 questions, and you have 90 minutes to complete this exam. To pass, you must have a score of at least 72 percent.
Certification requirements and exam objectives are subject to change at any time without prior notice from the sponsoring organization. Sybex recommends that you visit the Web site of the sponsoring organization for the latest information prior to signing up for any exams.
Network+ ...
... is one of a set of more than 10 certifications sponsored by CompTIA, a non-profit association for IT professionals. The Network+ certification program began in 1999.
Those interested in earning a Network+ certification must pay the required fees and pass an exam administered at one of the CompTIA social networking benefits approved test centers. The test for first-time applicants lasts 90 minutes, contains 100 multiple-choice questions, and costs $230 USD to take. Network+ has no prerequisites.
Those who hold a Network+ certification may improve their chances of landing a job in the networking industry or increasing salary in their existing position. A Network+ also can be used to partially satisfy some prerequisites of more advanced IT certifications. For example, it qualifies as one of part of the elective exam requirement of the Microsoft Certified Systems Administrator (MCSA) certification.
Brace yourself for marathon-length multiple-choice questions that list lots of possible answers and ask you to "choose all that apply." The problem with this format is that you still only get the question right or wrong. If there are seven possible choices and three that are correct, you don't get partial credit if you only chose two and the two that you chose are among those correct. You missed the question. Miss enough of them, and you can plan on taking the exam again and again.
Microsoft has also added a new type of question that divides the information among three screens that you have to maneuver and scroll through. There are not a lot of these questions yet, but enough to make things frustrating. Before signing up for this test, I would recommend calling the testing center of your choice and asking what size monitors they administer the exams on; the bigger the better for these questions.
Fourth, Microsoft's Internet Authentication Service (IAS) is its implementation of Remote Authentication Dial-in User Service (RADIUS), and it forms a large component of RRAS. Knowledge of this topic is crucial to passing the Implementing, Managing, and Maintaining Routing and Remote Access portion of the exam.
For studying, start with the overview, and then read how the Network Access Quarantine Control works with Windows Server 2003. After reading that information, get as much comptia security certification experience with it as you possibly can.
