Chrysler has recently been so aggressive in making its stance on the US automotive market. This was partially due to the competition posed by some of its competitors such as GM. As part of this aggressive expansion to gain more attention from mainstream car finders and buyers, Chrysler has started better auto financing deal to its customers. However, these strategies are still modest compared to what the company really plans to pursue. This is because Chrysler Group LLC originally plans to establish its name as a leader in the automotive industry by investing more on the development of 9-speed transmission.

This particular plan was eventually revealed when Chrysler announced that it will invest an additional amount estimated to be around $843 million on its transmission plant in Kokomo Indiana, for the development of more 9-speed transmissions. Given this plan, it is quite clear that Chrysler would be very active in producing front-wheel –drive vehicles with 9-speed transmissions that would hit the automobile market within ...
... a few years.

This move from Chrysler Group LLC was actually the second this year since it previously announced that it would invest a total of $343 million in its Indiana Transmission Plants to focus on the production of more 8-speed transmission since its closest rival which is GM is also into the production of this particular type transmission.

Due to the first round of investment, Chrysler was able to beat GM in the production of vehicles with 8-speed transmission. This is evidenced by Chrysler’s intended release of the Chrysler 300 and the Dodge Charger this July. General Motors on the other hand has not made any announcement related to this aspect yet.

With these events and subsequent spending to develop more advanced technologies for cars and other types of vehicles, Chrysler hopes to establish its name as one of the leading automaker in the US. They are hoping that the advantage posed by their early exploration and intensification of producing 9-speed transmissions will create additional advantage upon dealing with their closest competitors. As the competition between Chrysler and other car makers intensifies, car buyers who will be conducting their own vehicle search using some of the popular new car finder websites would surely find more vehicle options and possibly take advantage of this trend.
