Nothing can be more classic than a good old trike. It is a very nice and secure kind of bike that your kids can enjoy riding while they are still young. Teaching them the bike too early on might make them afraid of falling down so giving them something that they can speedily manage and use is very good to ensure that your kids can play outside or mingle with the other kids. If you are thinking of buying this kid's play thing, be sure that you know the things to consider.

What is the age of your kid?
The tricycle is pretty much good for kid’s ages 2 to 4 years old. This is because during these years, they are still developing their balance. Keeping the balance while moving can be tricky for kids and they can fall down easily. The trike is the best option for your kid if you want to make sure that your kids can play and stay safe. Now, if your kids go from 5 and up, they can pretty much coordinate their bodies and so they will prefer to play with actual bikes with training wheels. This is great since you can just remove the training wheels if they are getting ready for actual bicycle riding.

Metal or plastic?
...
... A tricycle made of metal is sturdy and is a lot heavier. It has a more gravity and thus, it is more difficult for a kid to make it topple down. There are more modern constructions from lighter aluminum bodies that are very classy. They are durable since they can withstand rain or shine with little maintenance. Plastic is lightweight. It can be molded to shape so it is possible to find a lot more unique designs and features in plastic material. You might want your kids to choose for themselves. This is really more a question of durability so make sure that the choices are solid and are made with the highest quality.

Consider the structure
Depending on the structure, the tricycle can last a couple of years to 3 years with very little tweaks. Make sure that it is high enough for the child to be able to use it as they grow older. Adjustable chairs should be considered. Take a look also at how the pedals and brakes are. They should be sturdy and can last a long time. You do not want to buy something that looks wobbly, easy to break and hard to fix. Always be aware of your child's safety before making a purchase.

Price
Of course, there are tricycle designs that are cheap and there are those with added features that make them more pricey. Do the kids need those extra features?
