R-design: The New Face Of The 2012 Volvo S60 And Xc60
Volvo Cars of North America, LLC, had been doing several upgrades on its S60 and XC60 models. One of the most prominent information about this is that the company would be releasing the new sport sedan which is the 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design and the new crossover 2012 XC60 R-design. These designs are expected to hit the market on the later part of summer this year and their prices would be included on Volvo’s new car prices list prior to its actual sale. In case you are still curious of the changes that Volvo engineers and technicians have included in this design, try to read the things provided below.
1. Engine upgrades
One of the most significant upgrades that the 2012 Volvo S60 R-Design and the 2012 Volvo XC60 R- Design has achieved was the change in engine. This particular improvement is most of the time considered by car finders as the most exciting part since the vehicle would surely perform best.
The S60 and XC60 R-Design will be powered by an inline six cylinder V6 turbocharged ...
... engine. This particular engine is different from the standard T6 engine used for other S60 and XC60 versions since this is more powerful. The standard T6 engine is capable of producing 300 horsepower and 325 lb-ft of torque while the new engine produces 325 horsepower and a torque of about 354 lb-ft.
2. Chassis improvements
Volvo engineers have also focused most of their attention in improving the chassis of the S60 and XC60 R-design. They fitted a strut brace underneath the hood and this ties the suspension strut towers together. With this upgrade, the new designs would surely have better response when steered. In addition to this the rear dampers were also modified. Engineers used the monotube system for this design that provides quick damper response.
Given these upgrades and revisions, the 2012 S60 and XC60 R-design would surely be sold in relatively higher prices. Due to this, average income earners that depend on auto loans to purchase their own vehicle would be having a hard time in financing any of these vehicles since this means higher monthly premiums.
