Running And Transition Rules In Triathlon You Didn’t Know

If you are beginner triathlon and have dreams of carving a niche for yourself as a triathlete, then you must certainly make efforts to come to grips with all the aspects of the sport in the minutest detail. While triathlon training is a must for you to taste success in the niche, getting to know the rules and regulations laid down for participants in the sport is important too! In fact, the latter part must be got grips over even before your triathlon training begins. To help you out on that very front then, this article lists out the running and transition rules for triathletes in detail.
Rules for Running
The basic running rules that a beginner triathlon must necessarily be aware of include:
Crawling is strictly prohibited in the course of the running discipline.
Running bare foot or in improper dress up and/or shoes is unacceptable as per the uniform rules laid down by the ITU.
Use of headphones, earplugs or entertainment devices is not permitted.
Rules for Transition

... well? If you didn’t as yet, take a look at these transition area rules and you would get a clear idea on how you are expected to behave in the transition area so as to prevent disqualification from the event:
Any equipment that is not to be used in the following discipline must be left in the transition area.
For the cycling part of the triathlon, the bike must never be mounted/ dismounted before the demarcated lines for mounting/dismounting.
Changing of clothes in a manner unsuited to the generally accepted standards of dignity can amount to the triathlete’s expulsion from the event.
Impeding other participants’ progress in the transition area can be a serious rule violation.
Fiddling with co-participants’ equipment is another strict no-no.
When in the transition area preceding and following the cycling discipline, the bike must be
placed properly on the demarcated rack for the same and that too in an upright position.
Your chances of fairing in the play would surely benefit if you take notice of these rules and regulations, and especially so if you are a Beginner Triathlon. Just in case, you feel otherwise and choose to ignore the above listed rules, but please do so at your own risk.
