Like any other job, the certified dog trainer career can have its ups and downs. A dog trainer certification is relatively easy to get, but building a name and a respectful statute can take time energy and can make all fall apart in a second when you get an unsatisfied customer.

For a dog trainer certification holder, it is very difficult to maintain its fame and spotless certified dog trainer name. Not every certified dog trainer can manage to correct bad behavior issues or to please every owner. A dog trainer certification holder must be able to communicate in a proper way with the owner and the dog, in such a manner that, when the training is over, the certified dog trainer and the owner remain in a good friendly relationship.

A good place to start would be new specialization classes. These are meant to improve the dog trainer certification that he already has, and add a bit of fame to his name. The bad part about it is that these are very expensive to get, and it will literally empty the whole budget.

In some cases, the bad communication between the certified dog trainer and the owner of the dog is ...
... what brings disaster into ones career. If your client is not satisfied, at least let him go with the impression that you have done your best. As a certified dog trainer, priding your skills constantly and annoying the owner with your remarks can be very bad mistakes. Instead of this, a certified dog trainer must let the owner know that the success of the training is not 100%, make the owner understand why it is important for him to follow the rules and so on.

A dog trainer certification usually prepares students for such a dispute, but not all dog trainer certification holders can comply with this. A bad temper can make a dog certification null, and make one invest time and money into attesting, for nothing.

Communication and understanding are needed both from the client but also from the trainer. In order to see the best interest of the dog, all must collaborate.

For instance, if the dog is aggressive, the owner and the trainer have a dispute; this will end up only in one way: the owner gives his dog away, because it is dangerous, the trainer gets a bad name and the owner gets frustration. As you can see, none of the three outcomes are good.

In order to succeed in a certified dog trainer career, it takes not only training skills but also communicational skills. Any dog trainer certification holder must be able to speak in the best manner with the owner, make the owner follow his rules and trust him completely.

All this is only in the advantage of the dog trainer certification holder. Once the certified dog trainer has gained a bad name, there is nothing he can do about it, other than start over.
