His performances in Rangers so good that his once had six hits in nine innings, nobody had done that before. It is right the year when Soriano was selected into the All-Star Game as the starting second baseman.
At last, the Chicago Cubs signed with Soriano an eight-year contract almost $136 million. This is the most expensive in the Cub's franchise history and continues to 2014, that means Soriano need to play for Cubs at least another 3 years. The Cub's manager assigned him to play center field, and gradually moved to left field. In May, the first Cub's month game, he get the primary home runs in Cubs. The good thing is that Cubs always get good performance with Soriano's attending. He is extremely productive in June, only in one game against Atlanta Braves, he hit 3 home runs. As the harvest, he gained the "National League's Player of the Month".
Good things not continue in 2009, in which season he is not so good. But he still be good performance player in Cubs, and getter better in 2010. In the 2010 season, he attended 147 games, collected 40 doubles and 79 RBls. Also in the 2010, he hit his 300th home run off.
