Impact Of Cms On Seo Efforts

Content Management Systems have a responsibility of Content Creation and maintenance and on other hand Search-Engine Optimization is all about good content. So implementing a Web Content Management System will be a big help to SEO efforts as CMS will help us to create new, fresh and interesting content. But it is not necessary that impact of CMS would be always beneficial from SEO point of view.
Initially many CMS were not designed with Search-Engine Marketing in mind. Some specific problems that content generated by this kind of CMS has being indexed by engines. These problems are:–
Dynamic URLs: The primary way to determine the web pages is by their URLs and engines are programmed to limit their number of dynamic pages they index. Determining the pages through page URLs with special characters (%&=) throws a red flag for spiders of searchengines. So URLs with no such special characters are always better.
Bad Meta tags: Many CMS do not allow users to assign unique and relevant TITLE and DESCRIPTION Meta tags to the content and Meta tags are the HTML code components that are used by engines to evaluate ...

Poor Keywords URLs: Some CMS do not allow creating URLs that include keywords. URLs having keywords is very important to optimize the web page to get good rank in search-engines.
SearchEngine Unfriendly Design: Search-engines recognize web pages by going through its code. Practices like use of text in images, script-based navigation, overuse of AJAX, etc may distract searchengine spiders to search it from so many web pages as they may not able to crawl to that web page and unable to understand it.
These are some of the problems faced when the CMS is SEO friendly. But now lots of CMS claims that they are Searchengine friendly. With new versions available nowadays of CMS the programmer can modify the system with add-ons which will not damage the results of search-engine. But for doing this it requires programmers who know the CMS systems and SEO tactics properly along with the ability to add modules or changing the configuration of web server.
It is not necessary that your content authors will able to create good optimized content if you have figured out how to have your CMS create searchengine friendly content as most CMS users are not much knowledgeable about SEO.
To get management advantages of CMS and site promotion advantages of SEO, the only solution is getting Searchengine optimizing CMS. At least the CMS should not create URLs and content that searchengines refuse to index because of its dynamic looks. Moreover the system should also allow you to create relevant, per-page Meta tags and titles and it should present content using navigation menus that search-engines will follow. To get better searchengine ranking, you need a CMS that allows non-technical users to easily specify keyword rich URLs, title tags, description, and image alt text so that your CMS users can easily optimize content as they create it. The system should also provide feedback on all these elements in terms of how they will actually impact the performance of web page for selected keywords.
