Many people wonder at what is the best time to take whey protein. Although protein can be derived from common food groups such as fish, milk, eggs, cheese and beef, increasing intake on such food will also mean an increase in weight, which a lot of people would want to avoid at all cost. This is the reason why many are going for the whey protein as it is able to give the body the nutrients that it requires without having to add weight. There are specific times that a person is supposed to take the whey protein if at all he wants to get the desired results. This means that you cannot take it at anytime you feel like.

Whey protein should be taken in the morning. Remember that you have been sleeping for eight hours and during your sleep, your body has used all the protein and you need something to help you to jump start your day and what a better thing than the whey protein. Taking whey protein in the morning will help in boosting up your protein level as well as to give you the energy that you ...
... need to be able to start your day. Whey protein is good in the morning because it does not spike your blood sugar. If you spike your blood sugar in the morning with a high glycemic meal, your blood levels come crashing down, and can actually drop. This causes you to be tired and hungry again.
Another best time to take whey protein is before a workout. Working out on an empty stomach is not a good idea. Taking whey protein before workout helps one to get the energy he requires during the workout. One should take just enough for fuelling the muscles as taking a lot will leave one bloated and he will not be able to exercise in the right manner. There are times when you do not need the whey protein before workout. If you have eaten a healthy meal close enough to your workout or you have been using other supplements like creatine, you do not need the whey protein as the main point is to make sure hat you do not have to workout on an empty stomach or on a low protein level as you will not be able to go far.
After workout, your body muscles are ripped, torn, broken, and starving for a meal. This is also a best time to take your whey protein. This is also the time when your protein levels tend to be very low. Your muscles take everything they can find to keep you energized throughout your workout. When you're finished, your protein is gone and needs to get filled up. One should take a rest of about 60–90 minutes after a workout before refueling your body with the whey protein.
Taking whey protein before going to bed is of helpful to a person and especially for the ones who are focused on muscle building. Most of the protein breakdown process occurs during sleep and taking whey protein helps in lessening the protein loss in the body as it slows protein metabolism. To ensure that your whey protein intake is properly absorbed in the body, you have to know the best time to be taking it. For better results, one does not need to increase the consumption but instead should concentrate more on making sure that the protein he takes is not going to waste.
