These days you see far fewer bungalows than before. An evergrowing population means that we're often more likely to build upwards, as opposed to across, and bungalows require a lot of ground space, which makes them rather impractical to construct in this day and age. Some would maybe interpret this as owning a bungalow is a lot more exclusive than in the past.

Bungalows however present you with a selection of practical features. Bungalows usually offer adequate space despite the whole home being spread over one floor, in case you do realise you are struggling for space you have the option of a bungalow loft conversion. Many people are put off by their reputation that they've aquired as being most suited to the elderly or those with limited mobility.

This is not necessarily the case. Bungalows can be large and spacious with adequate sized gardens . Plus there is no good reason that a bungalow like every other type of home could not be up dated and altered to suit individual tastes.

Security is the issue with bungalows. This is due to the reality that the bungalow merely occupies ...
... one level making all doors and windows within reaching distance. Plus bungalows are usually located in quieter more secluded neighbourhoods. Which means that a lack of foot traffic could capture the fancy of burglars. When considering this, you must ensure your home is sporting as many security measures as possible. These security measures won't need to set you back a lot of money, a security light can be a great deterrent as can the addition of thorny bushes deliberately placed below windows.

On a more positive note, the quieter neighbourhoods where bungalows will often be found can also be friendly, neighbourly areas. It's a great advantage to someone living alone, as there is nearly always someone wanting to have a chat. Additionally, it means that where crime is involved, you've got a neighbourhood where everybody is looking out for each other and their property. Additionally when you have children the quieter area will be great, providing an area in which they can play safely.

Some individuals are under the illusion that a bungalow wouldn't be suitable for a family on account of lack of space. But this needn’t be a concern; bungalow loft conversions can extend your home to allow an additional room, and dependant upon the size of the loft, a possible two or three rooms. Since a bungalow is commonly a detached property, planning permission should be uncomplicated to obtain.

A bungalow can be the ideal style of property to reside in as you grow older. People's mobility without doubt decreases when they age. It can be at this point many look at moving to a bungalow to be a way to continue to live independently. But moving home is usually a particularly stressful time, for any person, it would be the last thing someone struggling to get around wants to be considering.
