Prepare Properly For Your Skiing Holiday By Choosing The Right Clothing For The Children
Skiing holidays can provide the perfect holiday solution, whilst combing physical exercise with relaxation you don't need to worry about those few pounds piled on . But making sure everything on your holiday runs smoothly takes some preparation, particularly when you’re going to have kids in tow.
The proper clothing is essential to a successful skiing holiday; you can forget your bikinis on this one; you should be thinking warm, and warmer! This is much more important if you’re bringing your kids on their first skiing holiday. The wrong clothing will lead to unhappy kids, and no one would like to deal with screaming children in the middle of a mountain.
So, what is the best ski clothing intended for children? Your main choices are between separate kids ski jackets and trousers (or alternatively, salopettes), or an all-in-one ski suit. The two options come with both advantages and disadvantages, for young skiers the preferred option seems to be the all in one ski suit. This doesn’t mean the all-in-one is right for your child however.
The all in one ski suit is often the most ...
... preferred option for parents due to the level of warmth it offers. The body heat can be retained because there are no gaps for this to escape, as well as no gaps for the cold air to get in.
If the all in one suit isn't your ideal choice there is an alternative. The combination of salopettes with a ski jacket could be a far better choice than the ski jacket worn with trousers. Salopettes come much higher up the body than trousers, reducing the chance the skin could become exposed to the cold conditions. Plus another characteristic of salopettes will be the straps which go over the shoulders, reducing the possibility of movement or worse, trousers slipping down!
All-in-one ski suits can also cause problems when nature calls so you suddenly end up dashing to the nearest toilet. While some all-in-one suits are designed for effortless removal on such occasions (usually the bottom and top part of the suit can be separated), many suits aren't so technologically advanced and may require the removal of the entire suit. Along with being awkward and inconvenient, you probably don’t want your child’s clothing to end up touching dirty toilet floors.
On the other hand, all-in-one ski suits benefit from the fact that they are typically cheaper than separate kids ski jackets and trousers. That is definitely an advantage considering the rate at which young children grow, and the fact that the clothes you buy them for this holiday, probably won’t fit when the ski season beckons again.
However the option of separate kid's ski jackets and trousers doesn't have to be quite such a snug fit, meaning you could think about getting the next size up. Therefore your child can grow into their ski clothing and get a another years use. Irrespective of whether you choose an all in one outfit or seperate kid's ski jackets and trousers, it is the quality that counts. Cheap ski clothing could leave your child subjected to the elements as they prove to let wind or water in, and such events will be the unwanted key to a ruined holiday.
