Suarez Scores On Debut As Liverpool Continue Their Renaissance
Liverpool notched up their third successive win under Kenny Dalglish with a 2-0 victory against Stoke City at Anfield on Wednesday night.
Second half goals from Raul Meireles and debutant Luis Suarez sent the Reds on their way. Liverpool now also have three clean sheets in as many games as they go into Sunday's mammoth clash against Champions Chelsea in buoyant mood.
After a lively first half, who's most notable moment came when Asmir Begovic pulled off an astounding save to deny Glen Johnson, Liverpool went ahead two minutes after the break when Meireles blasted home a left-footed shot to score his third goal in four games.
Suarez received a standing ovation from the Anfield faithful when he came on for Fabio Aurelio on the hour mark. It took the Uruguayan only 15 minutes to open his account in the Premier League, when he took the ball past Begovic before seeing a tame effort go in off the post following Andy Wilkinson's attempted clearance.
This win propelled Liverpool to 7th spot in the table and after a disastrous beginning to their campaign, they are finally showing signs of a revival.

... other games, West Ham United climbed out of the bottom three with an impressive 3-1 win against Blackpool at Bloomfield Road. Nigerian striker Victor Obinna scored either side of a debut goal from Robbie Keane to condemn the Seasiders to their fourth successive defeat.
Chelsea loanee Daniel Sturridge scored the only goal of the game for Bolton Wanderers against Wolves to help the Trotters climb to 8th place in the table.
An Andy Carroll-less Newcastle clearly missed the Englishman's goalscoring prowess up front as they slumped to a 1-0 defeat against Fulham at Craven Cottage, with former Magpie Damien Duff scoring the winner.
Tottenham maintained their push for a Champions League spot with a hard-fought 1-0 victory at Ewood Park. Peter Crouch's 4th minute header was enough to see Harry Redknapp's men reduce the deficit between themselves and fourth-placed Chelsea to 3 points.
