Lack of space is one of the primary reasons to renovate interior of a home as probably the house when bought was not designed for 34 TV or for sound system or for fridge of 430 unit, dish washer and washing machine etc or old furniture has outlived its age and is falling apart.
Whatever the reason, renovating the home interior can be the right solution but how do you decide whether to renovate or move to a bigger house.
Well the first thing is to scrutinize your living style and requirement, whether you are comfortable in your neighborhood or not, do you require a change of location if your working place has changed etc?
Moreover these would be substantial cost to moving, estate agents, commission stamp fees, society transfer fees etc.
Now let us assume that you have finalized to renovate the interiors of your existing house or decorate new house, budget will have to be finalized and if needed finalize professional to help you to do your decoration as professionals work will add more value to your renovation. It could be 40 to 50% compared to your self-renovation.
When you start, you will ...
... be surprised by the cost of renovation, this cost vary throughout the country, e.g. in Mumbai it can be Rs.2000/- 400$ per square feet and Ahmedabad could be Rs.1500/- 300$ per S.F. onwards.
Also material you select can radically alter the cost of your project e.g. ceramics life would cost 25% of good marble cost, hence you will have to decide if you want top of the line or the bottom line products.
Remember you wont get back the renovation cost when you sell your house; hence decorate it moderately with basics and minimum expenses. Kitchen and bathroom are product intensive hence are most expensive rooms to renovate in an interior on a per square feet basis.
