Buying baby clothes is one of the first steps of preparing for a baby's arrival. But, those tiny little cute clothes should be chosen carefully. Similarly, check for any loose buttons, or appliqués or accessories that could pull off from the clothes and get into baby's mouth.

Babies need to be kept warm unless it is hot. Pack them up in an extra layer of baby clothes than you are yourself wearing if it is cold. But layering should be comfortable and not bulky for the baby to handle. For cold climates, baby socks are a must-have too. Baby socks tend to fall off a lot if the baby is too active or if the size doesn't fit her too well. Have several pairs at hand. Accessories like shoes and hats turn her into a celebrity baby. If you also want to turn your baby into one, make sure the shoes are soft and have a broad opening. Remember, babies often chew on their shoes.

Choose clothes that breathe, are comfortable, and do not cause too much restriction. Clothes for the babies can easily be found in shops that sell strollers, baby accessories, and baby furniture. No matter where you buy clothes from, just make sure the clothes are soft, made from natural fibers, and are absorbent. Pure cotton is the best choice in terms of baby clothes. But, cotton has the disadvantage of getting shrunk when it is washed in hot water. Whatever choice you make, have many clothes for babies at hand because the babies need a change several times during the day.
