Stem Cell Treatments To Save Man's Leg
There is nothing important than one's life and research has proved that everything is possible these days, thanks to emerging technology. It is a story of Bhadwan Dass who is 55 years old man from Haryana. The man was a diabetic and was about to lose his leg as he was suffering from deadly disease called gangrene. A hospital located at Delhi's outskirts has treated this patient using stem cell treatments. By using this miraculous treatment, the doctors had made an amazing escape by saving his leg from being removed surgically.
Dass also underwent surgery in Faridabad which resulted in the serious blocks in the leg vessels. A patient with such a medical background cannot undergo for angioplasty or bypass as it is very dangerous for the patient to survive after that. The stem cell technology has proved that there are bright chances of survival by using this treatment. In this case, the stem cells are generated from the patient's bone marrow. In the case of Dass, the bone marrow was generated from hip bones. ...
... Around 180 ml of bone marrow was obtained from the patient and the doctors got 48 ml of stem cells in concentrated form. Thus, this concentrated form of bone marrow is injected into the legs of patient on different spots.
The doctors have noticed a great improvement in the condition of patient's leg and now the intake of anti-biotics and painkillers have been also reduced. By injecting bone marrow into leg, the new blood vessels help in improving blood flow which is responsible for the better condition of leg. The stem cell news is gaining attention of people throughout globe and it is really a miraculous therapy in the world of medical science.
The doctors told that when patient visited them, the half part of leg was black and amputation was needed from the thighs. However, by injecting bone marrow the doctors told that now they can save huge part of his leg. Still, the government is not in the favor of stem cell treatments and they want to keep this treatment for research purposes only. Well, it is true that the thinking of Government medical research will get changed due to marvelous effect of this treatment.
The top doctors have revealed that it is completely ethical to treat a patient by extracting own body cells. The bone marrow can be used to prevent one from various diseases. This treatment is a great alternative whenever there is no option left to save the life of patient. However, the techniques to treat patients will keep changing and also Fortis hospital has used the same technique to treat paraplegic patient. Let's hope for the positive results from amazing technique in future.
