Then some stores offer one day of double coupons and even more money is saved. This example demonstrates how much money can be saved. A tube of toothpaste sells for $2.89, but the consumer has a coupon for 75 cents off. The local grocery store is having a sale on this toothpaste and the sale price is $2.59. Since the store offers double coupons on Wednesday, the consumer buys this toothpaste for a total of $1.09.

Extreme couponing can save thousands of dollars which can be very helpful to a family. It may even save so much money that either the wife or husband could stay home with the children and cut more coupons.
