Thinking Of Applying For A Green Card?

The United States of America is one of the few countries where quite a large number of people from virtually all countries of the world would like to live in. The main reason for this is this country's reputation for being the land of opportunity for all those who want a chance to live their lives to the fullest and turn their dreams into reality. Just like for most other countries around the world, it is not enough for a person to want to be able to stay and work in the United States and the first requirement is of course a green card visa. Through the Green Card Lottery program, also known as the Diversity Immigrant Lottery Program, the United States government issues out 50,000 permanent resident visas for people from most countries of the world. There is a list of 19 countries including Brazil, China, India and Canada whose nationals are kept from applying for a green card through the Diversity Immigrant Lottery Program due to the program's regulations.
The reason why some countries are not included in the lottery is they send over 50,000 immigrants per year to the US. This particular number does not count asylum ...
... seekers or refugees or previous diversity immigrants. Furthermore, countries that have been previously excluded from the program can still be added to give their residents the chance to live in the USA if they maintain an annual number of less than 50,000 immigrants sent to the US for a period of five years. Applying for a green card nowadays is no longer an ensemble of tedious tasks since the entire process is now being handled through the internet. There are certain strict rules which apply to each person interested in applying for a green card and live in the USA. The first one is of course to have a high-school diploma or an equivalent diploma, or in their absence at least two years of experience in a job position that requires two years of training.
Following a positive result after applying for a green card, an applicant is allowed to live in the USA, work and get an education. A person who has won their right to live in the USA after applying for a green card through the Diversity Immigrant Lottery Program can also bring their spouse to live with them, together with any children under the age of 21. Although there are no age limits imposed for those interested in applying for a green card, the strict requirements related to education or work experience generally lead to the exclusion of applicants under the age of 18. In order to show support for married couples who want to live in the USA, this program allows spouses to be applying for a green card individually thus doubling their chances. Those who are given the right to live in the USA through this program receive all the rights dictated by the laws that are in effect in the United States of America except for the right to vote, which is only available to American citizens.
