There are a myriad of reasons that glass TV stands can be one of the most stylish choices for your TV stand furniture. They are designed to be both functional and stylish, and whether it's just one element of the TV stand (such as a door or shelves) or most of a unit that's made of glass, they can be some of the best stands on the market for your TV and accompanying material.

Stand design basics

Whether the glass is within the stand, the shelves, the top surface or doors, the basics of glass stand design is the same. These basics are constructed in various ways, whether it has one shelf or several, or is entirely made of glass, other than the struts or supports, one thing holds true for all of them - they are designed with both function and form in mind. Something that might be difficult to understand is how they remain sturdy and solid without damaging the glass - which is why it's very important to ensure that all of the parts and design elements are in place, secure and undamaged. If you find any damage at all, you should stop using the unit immediately and ensure that you repair it fully.

Tempered glass ...
... - why?

Glass TV stands are mostly made of ‘tempered' glass - a special type of treated glass that means that it is less easy to shatter and harder to break. If they do break, tempered glass should shatter into small pieces instead of shards, meaning they are safer to use as furniture in houses and should be solid enough to withstand holding a TV. Tempered glass is less prone to shattering anyway and allows you to make sure that your glass products are safe to use in most ‘normal' environments. It's important to remember however that they should only be used in environments for which they are designed.

Cleaning a glass stand

Glass stands can be damaged quite easily, but also become marked with fingerprints. Because of this, and the fact that objects like dust and dirt are very visible on the surfaces of most TV stands, and televisions themselves, it's important to keep them clean and wiped every few days - polish or a damp cloth can keep them clean without leaving residue. You can also get special microfiber cloths that can remove dust and dirt without any chemicals at all - but you need to be careful that you don't scratch or otherwise damage those surfaces, as they'll look less attractive.

Caring for a glass stand

Glass TV stands don't need much work or cleaning, other than the basics. As long as you ensure nothing is dropped on them or nothing collides with them, then it's possible they'll last more than the TV you're using.

Glass TV stands are amazingly functional, attractive and work well with almost any TV type. Innov8.tv can help you choose your stands easily.
