There are numerous methods of incorporating damask into a wedding. The print can be used to create elegant tablecloths for the reception or it could be used to create eye catching bridesmaid dresses. However, damask can also be used to create a damask wedding theme. When it comes to weddings, the most common damask color scheme is black and white. This is an ideal method for adding a touch of a vintage style into their reception's centerpiece. These centerpieces can be created by hand. The supplies that an individual will need for this project include a glass vase or candle holder, glass frosting spray, black peel and stick felt, damask print stencil, and a white colored pencil.

First, the individual should lay down a sheet of newspaper over a flat work surface. A damp cloth should be used to wipe down the vase or candle holder to ensure that it is free from dust. Then the vase and candleholder should be placed upon the newspaper. If an individual chooses to use vases, they may be purchased at an inexpensive general store. Then ...
... a light coat of glass frosting spray should be applied to the outer surface of the vase or candle holder.

It would behoove an individual to be careful when applying the glass frosting spray. If too much of the spray is applied, it may create a rippling effect on the surface of the glass. If an individual would like the centerpiece to have a more opaque finish, then another coat of the glass frosting spray may be applied once the first coat has thoroughly dried. The next step to creating this damask wedding centerpiece is to lay the damask stencil on the top of the black peel and stick felt. The white pencil should be use to trace the design over the felt.

The damask design may then be cut from the peel and stick felt using a sharp knife. The backing of the damask cutout should then be removed an applied to the vase. The glass frosting spray should be thoroughly dried before the felt is applied. These simple steps lead to the creation of an elegant, damask wedding centerpiece. The centerpiece may be filled with any type or color of flowers that the bride wishes to use. Brightly hued flowers will smartly set off the stark contrast of the black and white vases.
