In today's world, it seems like there's a box for everything. Not only can you get your Chinese food in a box, but you can get boxes that are big enough to go over refrigerators, washers and dryers and even people. But there are lots of things that you simply can't fit in a box easily. When it comes to packing and moving them, what do you do? If you've got a short move, for instance from Denver, Colorado to Boulder, Colorado, you may be able to get away with not doing anything, depending on how fragile the object is. But there are some things that, regardless of how short the move is, you need special packing to ensure it doesn't get bent or broken.

For lots of items, particularly sculpture and other artwork, there's not a box made that will work. Wrapping the object well is really the only approach that will work. Using sheet Styrofoam and bubble wrap is a start. Once you've got a good layer of that in place, then you can start using firmer materials like cardboard and Styrofoam panels. Once these panels are in place, all that can be done next is to strap it securely in place when transporting. The layers of padding ...
... prevent damage from little bumps and strapping it in place will prevent it from falling. Everything else depends on the people doing the moving. Many Colorado moving companies specialize in doing this kind of work.

When it comes to other items, while a box may not exist that will work, there are times you can create a box that will work. When moving or shipping large paintings and mirrors, or panels of glass, careful construction of a crate will enable you to move it without having to worry too much about breaking it. As long as the crate is constructed well, especially if the crate is built around the item being moved, then padded well as the crate is completed, even the most fragile of items can be transported safely without having to be concerned about breakage during transit. Good moving companies, like Colorado Springs moving companies, are prepared to build crates for moving delicate items.

The key points in time are moving the item out of its existing location and placing it in its new one. During transit is usually the safest time for an object being moved, but going in and out of places usually relies on human movers. That's where the problems can come into play. But using a reputable moving company will also mean they've got great insurance coverage. That way, even if the item gets broken during shipping, they'll take care of replacing it or having it fixed. The best piece of advice when working with odd shaped items is to simply take your time and be careful.
