Dna Paternity Test Ensures You A Safe Future
DNA paternity test is one of the procedures to ensure biological relationships between a parent and a child. Whereas a normal paternity test is concerned, it is performed after the birth of a child. Prenatal tests are conducted for determining the paternity of a child prior to his/her birth. However, a DNA parental test is opted by those who does not prefer to wait till the birth of the baby for ensuring paternity. DNA parental tests are conducted based on samples that are taken from the pregnant mother.
A DNA paternity test is performed through oral swabs by rubbing them inside the cheeks and thereby accumulating the DNA containing cells. The entire process is comparatively painless and done in quite a straight-forward manner. A DNA paternity test is carried out in two ways. The first is process is known as Amniocentesis where the fluid samples encircling the womb are obtained. The second one is Chronic Villus Sampling or CVS where the cells are obtained from the placenta surface. Both these cases are performed with the help of ultrasound by the health care provider. Here, either a thin tube is inserted ...
... through the vagina or cervix right into the uterus or a needle is pushed through the belly wall up to the uterus. The motive of these two processes is to extract a small tissue sample from the exterior of the sac inside which the baby is developing.
As far as the risk factors are concerned, a DNA paternity test involves no risk at all. However, the CVS and Amniocentesis tests come up with very rare instances of a miscarriage. But you can always be on the safer side if the test can be performed prior to the ninth week of your pregnancy. However, it is a wise thing to consult your doctor to assure whether there are any further risks involved in amniocentesis and CVS.
Well, if you are wondering as how to commence a DNA paternity test, kick off by consulting your Gynecologist regarding the different aspects of the procedure. Now, if you have decided to go for the procedure, provide your amniotic fluid sample to your specialist and he will send it directly to the laboratory where you have chosen to conduct your DNA paternity test.
