Natural Home Remedies For Cold That Really Work
Cold or common cold, as is widely known is the most occurring physical disorder in every human being irrespective of age and gender. Caused by virus, it can occur at any time of the year and is a very bothering problem. Cold is often followed by cough, running nose and mild fever and in most cases is not serious. But it is a contagious disease that spreads rapidly affecting many within a short period of time. Generally the symptoms last from 3-10 days and subside without any medications and children need proper treatment and care to prevent any secondary infection.

1. Lime is a rich source of Vitamin C that boosts the body immunity system and removes toxins from the body. Drink made by squeezing the juice of a lemon in a glass of warm water adding few drops of honey to it, is useful in treating cold.
2. Garlic soup is prepared by adding few cloves of crushed garlic in water and boiling it for few minutes. Consuming this soup 3-4 times a day is a useful home remedy in treating cold.
3. Ginger tea and ginger decoction are highly effective in treating this disorder. To avail best results, these should be consumed 2-3 times daily.
4. Inhaling crushed carom seeds tied in a cloth removes the nose blockages.
5. Similarly, inhaling few drops of eucalyptus oil dabbed in a handkerchief also provides relief from nose blockages.
6. Taking a mixture of one tablespoon of Indian gooseberry juice and half teaspoon of ginger juice also helps in reducing the symptoms of cold. Indian gooseberry is also rich in Vitamin C that boosts the body immunity system.
7. Frequent gargling of throat by adding two tablespoon of common salt in lukewarm water reduces its soreness.
8. Licking 1 teaspoon of pure honey 2-3 times a day reduces soreness of the throat and cough.
9. Drinking tea made by mixing one tablespoon of pepper powder, a pinch of turmeric and a teaspoon of sugar in warm milk provide instant relief from cold.
