As a player, getting the right string tension should be the topmost consideration for your racket. Often misunderstood tennis racket string tension is the tightness at which the string is set in the racket frame. If you're looking for ideas on deciding the right string tension your tennis racket, this article will give you an insight on how to go about doing it. Rackets are usually available in four head sizes i.e. midsize with 80 to 93 square inches of playing surface, mid-plus rackets (94 to 105 square inches), oversized rackets with 105 to 120 square inches of playing surface and super-oversized tennis rackets with playing surface of 120 to 135 square inches. Moreover, the type of string is in a way depends on the level of game you play. For novice or a basic level player starting game with basic nylon tennis string is the best bet. And as you advance, keep trying different brands and thinner gauges to choose the right string based on your capabilities. Talking about durability, tighter the string higher is the durability.

Strings they can be made of several materials, including Natural gut, which is the most expensive and Nylon also called synthetic gut known for high performance. Other string types include Polyester strings that are more durable than gut, but have lower performance and Kevlar considered as the most durable strings. While proper stringing is an important aspect that affects you racket's playability (power and control), it's important that you go for proper tensioning systems. Deciding the tension of tennis strings is a matter of choice. However, trial and error will help you in determining the right amount of tension of your tennis strings.
