When you press the brake pads against the brake rotors a large amount of frictional force is generated. And that leads to things really getting heated up. And you as a driver are not much aware of this, you have just started to press on the brake pedal and you are going to press harder. And yet the brake pads must not overheat and continue to generate friction, otherwise if due to the heat the amount of friction they can generate goes down then you will get a brake fade.

Brake pads clearly need to be able to withstand a large amount of heat to be able to deliver a quality performance. And thanks to the research and development efforts for car components such as brake pads they are getting better and better at doing that. Therefore when you next need to replace the brake pads you should check out the options available online and go for the ones that deliver a strong performance through better technology.

Technology of course is being developed to make better and better brake pads. So what are the qualities that need to be enhanced? One it should be able cause a lot of friction after all a car is a very heavy object ...
... moving along at great speed and to convert all that kinetic energy into heat will require some doing. Two, since they generate so much heat they should be able to withstand a lot of heat and not get affected much in terms of the amount of friction generated. Third they should be durable, after all by being rubbed so hard for so long they will wear out, but the car owner is more concerned with how often the brake pads need to be replaced. And if they wear out fast notwithstanding the other good points the car owner will not be happy about the purchase. Some older brake pads also generated gases which created the need for getting rid of these gases. The latest brake pads look to avoid gases being created as a result of all that friction.
