Vacuuming the house is very tough. Different messes need different clean ups. This is where a wet and dry vac comes handy. Also known as a shot vac, it has the ability to clean dry materials like allergens, dirt etc., and also wet messes like spills etc. You can toggle from wet to dry with the flip of a switch. The one drawback is that a wet & dry vac is too large and therefore not conducive to everyday cleaning. But it has the functionality to tackle more complex projects.
The design of the wet and dry vac is very simple. It has a hose that comes standard with several attachments. It is attached to a large tub canister on wheels that can be pulled easily from one place to another. The tub can be easily emptied by separating it from the motor. The wider hose of the vac allows it to pick up a large number of materials without it getting clogged.
It comes in all shapes and sizes and can be wall mounted too. The larger capacity wet dry vac is recommended for shops and the smaller one for homes. Some components need to be looked into before purchasing a wet and dry vac ...
... /b>. The foremost is the filter. Is it reusable and does it need to be toggled from dry to wet and dry? Does it have an automatic shut off device once the unit is filled with water? Does it have a drain to take care of the overflow?
Also make a note of the size of hoses. The wider they are, the less likely they are to clog up. See what attachments are being offered. Most companies offer a vide variety of attachment with wet & dry vacs .
Finally, take a look at the warranty. Read the fine print to check if the warranty is comprehensive. It will save you a lot of trouble and heartache in the long run if you do so.
