The Minnesota Twins are a professional baseball team that plays in Major League Baseball. Major League Baseball is the highest level of baseball available to compete in throughout the world.

The team was established more than 100 years ago in 1894. The team started out as the Kansas City Blues and played in the Western League. They moved on to Washington to play as the Nationals and Senators for many years. The team continued playing in Washington for a 60 year stretch before moving on to their final resting place.

The team finally moved to Minnesota in 1961 and has been playing there ever since. That year they took on the name of the Twins, which is a reference to the Twin Cities in Minnesota. The team has had many ups and downs throughout the years.
It seems that recently there have been a lot more ups than downs, but that was not always the case.

The team managed to win their first World Series in 1924. The team was still playing in Washington and the fans were excited for the team's future. Unfortunately we know that the time of the 1920's was dominated by the likes of the New York Yankees. The ...
... Twins were quickly knocked aside from their championship aspirations and took a very long time to find their way back.
They did manage to win the AL Pennant 2 more times over the next 10 years, but they could not keep it up for long.

The team did not win another AL pennant until 1965. They found themselves competing for the World Series again, but they were not able to pull out the series. They would have to wait another 22 years before they would have another shot at winning the World Series.

The team found their way back to the World Series in the late 80s. They had endured more than 60 years without a single World Series Title and they were hungry. They played the St. Louis Cardinals and were led by the likes of Kirby Puckett. Puckett managed to lead the team to their first World Series Championship since 1924.

The team continued with a feeling for success into the early 90s. In 1991 the team found their way back to the biggest stage in baseball against the Braves. This World Series spelled success for the Twins as they brought home their 3rd World Series title in the history of the franchise.

The team followed with a downfall, but they have picked it up since the year 2002. The Twins have won their division 6 times since 2002 and have one of the most consistent franchises in all of Major League Baseball. They have won the last two Central Division titles and many people feel like they will be one of the top contenders for the World Series in coming years. They have some young, solid talent and such as Joe Mauer and they look like they could be a team that competes in this league for a very long time.
