Luxe Layering - How To Look Glamorous And Elegant, Yet Feel Comfortable

Everyone knows that layered clothing is a great way of dressing for all weathers but is there a way of layering your clothes so that you still look glamorous and elegant yet feel comfortable?

The key is to wear layers of clothes of neutral colors and to stick to natural fabrics. Using layers allows you to pull together a wardrobe perfect for tranistion dressing. Two thin layers can be warmer yet lighter than one thick layer; this is because the air trapped between layers acts as a thermal insulator. There are some materials that work well as layers and some that are not so effective. In general natural fabrics work best, clothes made from light jersey's and cashmere add that luxury to the layers and are thin enough to work in a multitude of situations. Avoid synthetic fibres, and heavier fabrics.

Firstly consider limiting your layers, two or three will be enough to cope with the changes in temperature. Choose a skinny style as a base layer, with a looser less structured style 2nd, and lastly cardi style to finish. ... are bang on trend. The key with this last layer is to choose something long, loose and flowing and something that is easy to take on and off.

Choose neutral colours that compliment each other, charcoals, and light greys work well with white's and cream. Camel is on trend for this season as are a range marl colours such as chocolate marl or charcoal marl. Consider adding stripes as a base layer to help lift the look.
