The Dudhsagar Ultra Trail Run 2025, held on 13 December 2025, made Goa’s Western Ghats one of India’s most extraordinary trail-running destinations. The event brought thousands of runners together for a breathtaking view of Goa. In this race, waterfalls, serenity of the forests and nature became their running companions.

“Sea milk” was the meaning of Dudhsagar from a popular myth passed through generations. In the past, a princess would take a bath near the fall, surrounded by her maidens. One day, a prince arrived at the falls and poured a jug of milk into the water to protect modesty, which gave rise to the name Dudhsagar. Even today, the water falls in milky white along the Mandovi River.

The event brought various runners for a cause rather than a competition. Goa is often associated with beaches, nightlife, waterfalls and more. The Mollem National Park and Bhagwan Mahaveer Wildlife Sanctuary offered a perfect landscape for a trail challenge, making this event refreshing for those who crave nature, adventure and solitude, beyond Goa’s attractions.

... run categories, including 110 KM, 55 KM, 21 KM, 10 KM and 3 KM Fun Run. The longer distances, especially the 110 KM with an elevation gain of 1690m, demanded grit, discipline and respect for the mountains. Runners began their journey
with the scenic view of Dudhsagar Plantation, a 50-acre paradise with natural pools and greenery. The run went through rural Goa, dense forest areas and mountains before taking a U-turn to Dudhsagar waterfalls. Many runners said that running through the scenic view of Dudhsagar was an unforgettable moment throughout the run.

Every race category was flagged off with precision, beginning at 4:00 a.m. for longer distances like 50 KM and continuing for the shorter runs.
