A renowned Nigerian poet and playwright once said ‘'this is a wasted generation''. His comment was moved by the level of government inactivity in the total development of the nation cum the citizens of which youths are the dominant population. He was moved because past regimes failed to invest in the future of the country; he was moved because the old guards refused to allow the youths to take hold of their future.

The golden opportunity has opened again for Nigerians mostly the youths to re-engineer and reposition themselves to reshape this generation in order to make it fruitful. Economical waste is a social debacle which must be tackled with every desire in human being. Allowing youths to waste away is like questioning the wisdom of God on why he creates this class. Demographic analysis shows that the Nigerian population consist of more youths than any other class, yet in stock is uncertainty for the development of this class of individuals.

Youth development has consistently been gloomy and uneven and has been characterised by the movement and journey of youth advancements in Nigeria. Many in realising ...
... this dead end position decided to migrate to where they can easily realise their dreams and calling in life. Best brains are thus pushed outside the shores of the country because no regime have cared or develop programs to investigate and appreciate their enormous wealth of resourcefulness'.

Nigerian youths have had their future battered and they are bitter about this, but at the moment they can salvage their future from the dustbins with their support for the candidacy of Goodluck Jonathan in the next year's election. From available statistics, it was stated that about 54 percent of Nigerian youths were not employed or underemployed in Nigeria. Within the fold several of them take into dangerous ways of lives to make ends meet, drug trafficking, prostitution, kidnapping, fraud, etc. Their productive powers are engaged in Nigeria violence such anti-social vices, deaths and prisons sentences pervade the atmosphere. These are what we as youths need to halt at this material time. We all should take our time to mobilize for the President Goodluck Jonathan roll. For his resolve and aroused commitment to development of the youths, he recently under take to confront the problems the ex-militants as a continuation of the amnesty granted them by his predecessor.

Let us commit our future to someone who believes in Nigeria development, has a future plan for our nation in order to build a sustainable economy, future for the country by engaging the future (youths) into capacity building and national development.

Our destiny is in our hand; as Nigerians goes to the poll to elect their 15th president, DO NOT sell your vote, DO NOT sit on the fence, your vote counts, let us all support Goodluck Jonathan in order to win the next election come 2011.
