Surgical technologists assist doctors in the operating room. Completion of Surgical Technology Training

After completing a degree at a surgical tech school, most graduates will take a certification exam.

This exam is administered by the Liaison Council on Certification for the Surgical Technologist (LCCST). To become certified, the successful applicant must pass this exam, and must have graduated from an accredited program. There is no guarantee of third-party certification/licensure.
