It is for a fact that a lot of us are not aware that near infrared or NIR infrared technology existed. Yet, as we gradually become aware of what it can do, we realize that it has already been at work and present for years. The basic principle of NIR infrared technology is that a given sample or test material unknown or known will generate a specific reaction within the entire range or spectrum of electromagnetism.

There are a lot of specific areas in the industry that benefits from NIR instruments or equipments that are based on different approach or technique depending on which industry is utilizing it. Prism is one of the classic types of NIR instruments and it is also one of the simplest instruments associated with NIR. Some other NIR instruments that are complex, unbound and more advanced have already been utilized by different industries to provide ease and convenience in processing samples.

Infrared radiation was incorporated into the special fabrics utilized in manufacturing the uniforms so that when it gives off the signals the image converter will detect the presence of an ally. It allows differentiation between an ally using NIR compliant uniform and an enemy wearing non-NIR compliant uniforms. It significantly reduces casualty during wars although it might not be utilized as extensively. NIR analysis in this case is through the image converter.

This is to say that the image converter is a form of NIR analyzer, which processes the radiation signal given off by the uniform of the soldier. This particular application of NIR infrared technology is specialized and advanced and there are other instruments that are far more advanced such as those that are NIR compliant spectroscopes utilized in astronomy and within the medical industry.

Our knowledge regarding near infrared analyzers may not be extensive but it allows us to become more aware of the existence of such technology that will definitely make a difference in the worldwide industry.
