If you surf regularly and are thinking about buying a new surfboard, you should consider your surfing skills and what type of surfing you want to do. If you are using a longboard to surf, you may want to consider using fish surfboards as well. These fish surfboards are shorter than longboards but are still easy enough to stand on. You will also be able to surf faster and start whipping in and out of the waves easier. It can be difficult to go from a longboard to a shortboard; therefore, you might want to consider trying a fish surfboard to help you adjust to a shorter board.

Stand up paddle boards are great because they allow almost anyone to enjoy surfing. You do not have to be in great shape to be able to use a stand up paddle board. You can enjoy being out on the water and looking at nature as you quietly and smoothly paddle. You can stand on these boards without becoming tired because you will not have to bend your knees to balance and stay afloat. If you want to explore a nearby lagoon for birds and other surprises, you can do that by comfortably using a stand up paddle board. Using one of these boards is ...
... like gliding through the water. Unlike being in a kayak or a boat, a stand up paddle board really puts you ‘in' the water.

If you are looking for a surfboard that is not heavy, you might try using a soft surfboard. These surfboards can easily be lifted and stored. Soft surfboards will not leave any marks if you accidentally bang one against your storage room or garage. These boards do not cost as much as fiberglass boards either. Soft surfboards can be easy to manipulate and you will be able to surf faster when you use a soft surfboard. These boards can be an excellent choice for a beginning surfer.

Choosing the right surfboard can make a difference in how much you can enjoy your surfing. If you try to use a fish surfboard when you are not very skilled at surfing, you will quickly become frustrated. Stand up paddle boards are great for older people or people who are overweight because they do not require a great deal of strength or stamina. Soft surfboards may be great for an inexperienced surfer who is not very fit. If you entertain or have visitors at your home, you may want to keep some inexpensive soft surfboards around as it allows anyone to make a good attempt at surfing.
