How About Sundae Dish
It's Sunday evening. I've just taken a break from my day long toil as a writer. Leaned back in my arm chair, I am lying with a bowl of cold, sweet tasting vanilla, chocolate and the sweet sensation of a cherry in one hand and a spoon full of it in other, enjoying the national tradition this late evening. The Sundae dish is the national tradition of America.
I know about the birthplace of the Sundae which just up the road, around a few ends, not very far from here; Ithaca, New York which are the oldest known organizer of this delightful dish. Many drug stores have had a Soda Fountain during the day and served soda and ice cream within it. It was at Platt & Colt Pharmacy at downtown Ithaca.
The year is said to be 1892 and the person Reverend John M. Scott who used to visit the Soda Fountain at Platt & Colt Pharmacy, after attending prayer at church. One evening, when he was there for his usual treat he was served Vanilla ice cream with Cherry juice spilled over it. This in fact was a mistake of the staff at P&C but Rev. Scott liked the taste very much. The dish was then baptized as Sundae, served with ...
... vanilla, cherry juice and a cherry on top. Ithaca now boasts the pride of being oldest known server of the Sundae. An advertisement was published in Ithaca Daily Journal in April 5, 1892, the ad was published by Chester Platt of Platt & Colt Pharmacy.
The company has done good publicity for making Ithaca known as the origin of Sundae dish but the government here has not paid much attention to the claim. There is no Sunday competition, event or Sundae Festival in the Commons here, or at the Park. Lets leave the Ithaca and enjoy the historical event in a new spirit. I would rather love to solute this great innovation, and even double dip and double solute my spoon full of sundae dish towards Chester Platt for this great American traditional dish - the Sundae.
If you want to invite your family on a get together in a summer evening and planning to offer Sundae dish to the guests, offer it in special sundae dishes to extract the highest joy out from the celebration. And make sure that you do not order ice creams all in one same flavor, or only those which you love most. If you meant to entertain your guests, then there should be something for everyone's choice. You can learn about their choices by calling them personally, if you do not already know about it. And do not forget your young guests, if there any in the hoard. They deserve special treatment. Arrange some chocolate and strawberry flavors especially for them and there are special sundae dishes for children.
mySundaeDish.com are able to supply Prawn Cocktail Dishes and Ice Cream Sundae Dishes to individual shopper, hotels and business in general.
