Looking your best on your wedding day is, for every bride, very important. Therefore good planning goes into all aspects of the outfit she wears, and what accessories are acquired to complete the picture.

Bridal hair accessories are one such example. Everyone will agree that a beautiful dress, a face made up perfectly, and the most beautiful earrings dangling in your neck is not enough – the hair needs attention too. And it does not end with the beautiful style in which you have your hair cut, or how you wear it – without some accessories your outfit may look bland and unfinished, and your whole appearance may be lacking an important finishing touch. Therefore brides, when they start planning their look and what to wear on the big day, also start paying attention to those important hair accessories to round off a great appearance.

There are so many options to choose from these days, and whether you decide to stick to a simple design and more traditional look, or whether you are more daring, there will always be an accessory or accessories to complete your hair. One woman may choose a delicate veil, another ...
... may arrive with something more modern, but they will both make an impression. You may prefer minimalist, the next woman may be extravagant, but both of you will have great choices to finish their outfit by adding something special to their hair.

Good hair accessories do more than keeping the hair in place – they also help to make you stand out, to make sure you are remembered. Just as the bride in a soft lace gown may decide to wear a light veil, her sister may prefer to wear a headband, either one she saw in a shop, or one that was made especially for her according to a specific request. There are so many options.

Some ideas for the bride to help her complete her look by the attention she pays to her hair accessories include:

• Think of the simple hair bow, but touched up with tiny gemstones or pearls, even if they are not real. It can look lovely, especially for the bride that decides simple is best, wearing her hair in a ponytail.
• Headbands can look lovely too, and they can be worn with many hairstyles, especially those that accentuate the forehead, for example. Silk headbands are often popular.
• You may be the bride that takes us back to the years and times of the pillbox hat, which was popular in the 30s, and especially in the 50s and 60s. Think of style icons such as Audrey Hepburn and Jackie Kennedy that made this popular. For the bride that wants to imitate this style, a pillbox can be worn to great effect.
• Tiaras and crowns, hair combs for brides (with matching examples for the helpers) are all popular, and they can be worn with different hair styles, whether yours is short or long, whether you wear your hair in a bun or loose. Hair pins and hair clips are further options as ideal accessories to lend a special touch to the bride’s hair. Also, many of these hairpieces are inspired by fashions from both the present and the past, which means brides are given the opportunity to wear the accessories that best complement the style their outfit represents.

The above are examples of what bridal hair accessories are about. Almost each accessory can be personalised for the bride by adding gemstones, or by choosing a piece that suits the style of the bride, whether that is a simple ivory comb, or a hair comb made of cubic zirconia. There truly are many options, and whether one buys one’s hair accessories from a retailer in the shopping mall, or from an online source, or from a jeweller that designed it for you, there will always be choices and options for the bride looking for the perfect hair accessory to compliment the rest of her look.
