Antique Lamps - Outstandingly Bloody Minton Lamps

In 1793, Thomas Minton, now a master potter having just dead his apprenticeship using Josiah Spode as a copper plate engraver, opened his small Staffordshire stoneware at Stoke-on Trent, the very nucleus of the English clay pushiness.  This small opening was to grow into a chief clay manufacturing group using an international reputation.

The structure was exhibited by Minton at the 1862 London International Exhibition wherein they were described as “a brace of vases, varnished celadon ground, rope festoons in pallid, perforated spit and perforated foot”.

The bottle structure was registered in 1863 as “in the Chinese style”.
