Purchasing bronze statue can be intimidating, particularly for first-time buyers. But we don't want that to stop you from improving the appearance of your living room, office, or garden. That is why we developed the Bronze Statue Purchasing Guide.

But there is one question that always perplexes buyers: how much does a bronze statue actually cost? Most bronze statues range in price from a few thousand dollars for smaller statues to well over tens of thousands of dollars for larger and more intricate statues.

The main reason for this wide price range is that bronze statues are complex, and the price of an individual statue is determined by a number of factors.

In this guide, we'll look at some of these factors to help you understand how bronze statues are priced so you can confidently choose your first (or next) bronze statue.

What Determines The Price of Bronze Statues?
A bronze statue's price is influenced by a variety of factors. However, for the purposes of this article, we will concentrate on some of the most important factors for a first-time buyer.

1. Size
The time, raw materials, ...
... and labour required to create a bronze statue increase in proportion to its size. As a result, larger bronze statues are more expensive than smaller bronze statues.
Keep in mind that this is more of a guideline than a formal rule. Smaller bronze statues can cost more than larger ones in certain circumstances, such as when they are commissioned or very intricate.
Small bronze statues and figurines can easily be found for less than $1,000, and even as low as $500. On the other end of the spectrum, 1:1 bronze statues of animals and life-size human replicas typically cost thousands of dollars, with prices ranging from $4,000 to $10,000 on average. As the design becomes more complex, this range expands significantly.

2. Design and Level of Detail
If you've ever looked closely at a high-quality bronze statue, you've seen the level of detail that master craftsmen can achieve. If you haven't heard, bronze foundries using traditional casting techniques can replicate even the most complex designs, such as clothing patterns and birthmarks.

All of this detail, however, comes at a cost. Intricate bronze statues with a lot of detail cost between $4,000 and $10,000 and frequently exceed $15,000.

3. Casting Technique
Many foundries will frequently cut corners, particularly in ready-made statues, in order to reduce the final price. This, however, is not ideal for the buyer. Due to a lack of expert casting knowledge, first-time buyers, in particular, will frequently struggle to distinguish between high-quality and low-quality bronze statues.

What is the solution? Only purchase from reputable foundries. Bronzeman, for example, collaborates with some of the country's oldest and most reputable bronze foundries. We employ an ancient casting technique known as the "Lost Wax Process," which produces lifelike detail and beautiful patinas.

It's also worth noting that well-made bronze statues will last a lifetime, whereas others will not.

Other factors that will raise the price of a bronze statue include purchasing directly from a well-known foundry or purchasing replicas of well-known designs.

Commission or Buy Ready-made?
The next big decision for bronze statue buyers is whether to commission a new statue design or buy one that is already made. To commission a statue, you must order a bronze statue that is built from the ground up to your exact specifications. There is only one major drawback to commissioning: it is significantly more expensive than purchasing stock statues.

Depending on your specifications, commissioning a bronze statue can cost anywhere from $10,000 to over $100,000.
The far more popular option is to buy ready-made.

Where to Find Quality Bronze Statues for Sale?
Bronze statues can be found on the internet in a variety of places, from general marketplaces like eBay to niche Facebook groups. However, only a few of the hundred locations where these statues can be found should be purchased.

Your best bet would be to locate a reputable foundry in your area and select a statue that appeals to you in person. However, you may be limited in terms of design and price options this way. Alternatively, there may be no reputable foundries in your area.

How to Get the Best Price on a Bronze Statue in 2023
You should now have a good idea of what you need to pay for the bronze statue you want thanks to this price guide. Unfortunately, finding a reasonable price for bronze statues, especially custom designs, is difficult. So, how do you know you're getting the best deal? One option is to buy directly from a reputable seller.
