Eligible Work Experience For The Australian Computer Society Skills Assessment

Having paid attention to this fact, we have written this article. Here, we will tell you about the eligible work experience for an Australian Computer Society skills assessment. However, before you come to know that, we want you to become familiar with the eligibility criteria.
Eligibility criteria:
The requirements are different for each occupation, and they are on the basis of different educational backgrounds as well as work experience. The following are the eligibility criteria according to the application types available:
Temporary Graduate:
If you use this pathway, you must have an Australian bachelor’s degree or higher. The degree must be an ICT major or closely related to your nominated occupation. You are not required to have worked in the chosen field.
Post Australian Study Skills Assessment
For this pathway, you need to have an Australian Bachelor’s Degree or higher. The qualification has to be an ICT major and closely relevant to the chosen occupation. In addition, you must have a relevant post-study work experience of one ...
... year or complete the ACS Professional Year Program.
Skills:
If you have a Bachelor’s degree or higher, and that is relevant to your occupation as an ICT major, you must demonstrate related work experience of two years in the last 10 years or 4 years of related work experience in the past.
If you have a bachelor’s degree or higher not relevant to the chosen occupation as an ICT major, you need to show 4 years of related work experience in the past.
If possessing a bachelor’s degree or higher closely relevant to your occupation as an ICT major, you need to have 5 years of relevant work experience earned in the past 10 years or relevant work experience of 6 years in the past.
If you have a bachelor’s degree or higher degree in an ICT minor that is not related to your occupation, you must show a minimum of six years of related work experience in the past.
If you have a Diploma, Advanced Diploma, or Associate Degree and your occupation in an ICT major is relevant to your qualification, show proof of work experience of 5 years attained in the last 10 years or related work experience of 6 years anytime in the past.
If having a Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associate Degree and if it’s not relevant to your chosen occupation and it is an ICT major, show a related work experience of 6 years earned anytime in the past.
RPL:
If you have a non-ICT Diploma or higher, show 6 years of relevant work experience along with your successful RPL application.
If without a tertiary qualification, demonstrate 8 years of related work experience with a successful RPL application.
For an RPL Australian Computer Society skills assessment, you need to demonstrate how you have earned your ICT knowledge. For that, you are required to submit 2 project reports. The report needs to have details of your career episode and demonstrate your IT knowledge in a working situation.
ICT Minor Vs ICT Major:
An applicant who has a bachelor’s degree or higher needs to have at least completed 33% of their studies in computing, in an ICT Major. Those with Diploma, Advanced Diploma or Associated Degree need to have completed at least 50% of the classes in computing in an ICT Major. Those having a bachelor’s degree or higher qualification will be assessed as an ICT Minor if the computing content is 66% of the requirements for a major.
Eligible work experience:
To be eligible, your employment must fulfill the below-listed criteria:
You need to have done work for a minimum of 20 hours per week.
You must have attained remuneration for the work you did.
Your employment must have been done after your qualification.
Thus, any research work or volunteering based on the thesis will not be taken into account as work experience.
