With summer just around the corner, now is the time to start getting your camper van ready for all the fun and adventure that lies ahead. Whether you're planning on hitting the open road for a cross-country trip or want to be prepared for weekend getaways, here are a few things you'll need to do to get your vehicle ready.

1. Have a spot for kitchen stuff

Being able to cook is essential to any good camping trip, but you want to avoid digging around for or contaminating food by storing it in the same area as your camping gear. So instead, dedicate a spot in your van for all your kitchen and food supplies.

Only got open space in your van? No problem. Consider installing a fridge-in-drawer unit and complete kitchen fit-out from reputable van storage experts. These will make storing, preparing, and cooking meals a breeze.

2. Make it safe

Your van has probably gotten cluttered with gear over the year, so it's essential to ensure that everything is securely stored away. This will help you avoid items shifting around and becoming a safety hazard while driving.

No place to organise small bits? ...
... Not an issue. Get cargo drawers installed with customisable dividers to make the most of every nook and cranny.

3. Sort out the sleeping situation

Sleeping in your van doesn't have to be uncomfortable. In fact, it can be quite cosy if you have the right setup. Unfortunately, many people don't take the time to really think about their sleeping situation and end up tossing and turning all night because they've crammed a bed in along with other gear.

The solution? Consider getting a false floor with cargo storage boxes underneath. This way, you'll be able to fit a mattress on top and still have plenty of divided storage space for all your other camping gear.

4. Plan for the unexpected

Every adventure accumulates more stuff than you started out with, so it's important to have plenty of storage space. Make sure you have some system in place for storing bits and bobs you accumulate throughout your trip.

No place to put new stuff? Think again. There's always tons of unused space for cargo drawers and storage bins - if you know where to look. For example, many businesses can fit durable cargo storage boxes on the side of your van, so they're out of the way and out of sight but easily accessible when you need them.

Make Your Camping Adventure the Best Yet

By following these simple tips, you'll be well on your way to having the best camping adventure yet. Without having to worry about where everything is or how you're going to fit everything in, you'll be able to relax and enjoy your time away from home.

Need help with van storage upgrades? Consider talking to local van storage experts in your area who can help you out. They'll be able to assess your situation and give you tailored recommendations based on what will work best for you.
